This online discussion focuses on the broad question crucial to the work we do at SJSU - what does it mean to be an educated person and are we doing enough to help our students achieve this goal. The discussion takes place both online and face-to-face with brown bag sessions twice monthly. This discussion began in May 2003 as the Academic Senate began its required review of our GE guidelines. It has continued as this is a never-ending topic. The face-to-face discussions focus on topics of current interest - what does "responsible citizenship" mean, how to help students achieve GE objectives beyond their GE courses, the role of a capsone course, and much more. Subscribing to campus_dialog
