About itdept	English (USA)
The purpose of this list is for Instructional Technology faculty and students to share information relevant to IT courses and general department business or events, including job postings, internship opportunities, and requests for help. It is not meant to be a chat forum, discussion board, or to be used for ongoing collaboration purposes. Other forums arranged by your course instructors will be more suitable for that purpose. Just like other listservs, this list distributes messages from any sender to everyone who voluntarily signs up on the list. At this time, it is not a moderated list. For that reason, use wisdom and discretion when sending public information to everyone on the list. Please send only information that is relevant and useful to the entire IT Department community. If you have questions about how to technically use the list, follow the help guidelines you received when you first signed up. If you have questions about the purpose or use of the list, contact the ITDEPT List Administrator. To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the itdept Archives. Using itdept
To post a message to all the list members, send email to itdept@lists.sjsu.edu. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to itdept
Subscribe to itdept by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
