Some other considerations:

This bill is a part of and would help the reauthorization/continuation of the 
No Child Left Behind law -- which is damaging children and schools across the 
nation.

This bill asks that the 49 states, that currently staff their libraries at a 
rate far higher than California, subsidize the school libraries of CA -- 
probably the wealthiest state in the nation.

Yes, I want high quality school libraries.   Yes, I want them staffed by high 
quality school library media teachers.   But, I think California has an 
obligation to demonstrate its commitment to school libraries. We can't even fund a 
database bill.

Until then I will not ask the Federal government to bail us out.
