My high school principal is interested in offering a semester course in thinking skills for Far Below Basic and Below Basic kids. He would like to use fun, engaging activities such as strategy and card games to teach kids how to use their minds, and demonstrate how to apply those same skills to academics, decisions in everyday life, etc.

The older folks amongst us remember playing all kinds of games like chess, checkers, Monopoly, and Parcheesi, card games like Hearts, or military strategy games. Games trained our minds in ways that we think benefited all levels of kids, especially those not motivated to think in school.

If you have, or know of any similar courses, units of study, or even activities, games, or materials, we would certainly appreciate hearing from you.
