Jane Yolen is the keynote speaker at this year's Children Literature Council of Southern California Fall Gala. The annual brunch will be held at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana on October 20, 2007, from 9 to 12. This annual event recognizes outstanding Southern California authors. This year's awards:

 FANTASTIC WORK OF FICTION Neal Shusterman 
 EXCELLENCE IN ILLUSTRATION Kadir Nelson

 PEGGY MILLER AWARD FOR YOUNG ADULT LITERATURE Dana Reinhardt  
 DOROTHY C. MCKENZIE AWARD Susan Patron
