[CALIBK12] Mr. Mike + Beetle Bug Books

Hi,

Our school has had Mr. Mike out a couple of times. He is great. He reads 
some of his work, shows some of his rough drafts while explaining the 
process of writing and illustrating, and takes questions from the students.

Our school loved having him. The assembly is free; the only "catch" is that 
he hopes to sell his books. As the teacher in the library, I received 
advanced copies (which went into the library) to hype up the books and get 
the students interested. (His poetry is fantastic!) The students can 
pre-order the books. The coordinator of the assembly needs to keep track and 
fax the order in before the assembly. After the assembly, Mr. Mike 
personalizes and autographs each book that was pre-purchased. For a 
designated period after the assembly students can still make purchases. The 
coordinator sets the deadline then faxes the names of the students (for 
personalization of autograph) and the title bought then mails in the checks, 
etc. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Mike mails down the books and the coordinator 
distributes them to the students.
