Greetings, CALIBbers.
I am forwarding this message from the International Association of School
Librarianship Conference 2008 Program Chair to CALIB-K12 in the hopes that
we will have a great California presence at the first IASL conference to be
held in the USA in many years. The conference site is UC Berkeley and the
conference chair is Blanche Woolls, who many of you know from her years at
SJSU.
Please note that besides the typical workshop/concurrent sessions/poster
sessions/demos the conference also has a strong research component. This
provides a wonderful opportunity for those of you who are working on your
advanced degrees to share some your research findings with an international
audience. Please consider taking an active part in this very exciting
conference next summer.

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the 2008 IASL Program Committee, I am pleased to announce that
the online submission site for 2008 conference proposals is now open and
will accept proposals through 15 January 2008. Please note that this time
frame is later than what was originally posted to the IASL Web site.

We seek proposals for four types of presentations: professional papers,
Research Forum, workshops/demonstrations, and poster sessions.

Please refer to the call for proposals page at
http://www.iasl-online.org/events/conf/2008/call-papers.htm for detailed
information on this year's theme, "World Class Learning and Literacy Through
School Libraries," its related subthemes, and descriptions of each type of
presentation.

The online submission form will require that you register, input some
information into the form provided, and upload your proposal (without name
or contact information to ensure a air peer review). You will also be
offered the opportunity to volunteer to review incoming papers.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at iasl2008 at gmail.com if you have any
questions.

We are looking forward to receiving and reviewing your submissions.

Sincerely,
Kristin Fontichiaro
