[CALIBK12] Target: elementary - what to do with those giant books?

We put ours in two magazine display racks. The really thick books only
fit on the top rung, but we only have a few of those. Because they are
displayed face out, the books are used a lot. A library supply company
makes "dummie" books. You can put the title and call # of a book on the
spine, indicate where it is kept and then put the "dummie" where the
book would normally be shelved.

I have a collection of about two dozen really large format books. They

sit stacked on a lower shelf and no one thinks to use them, because
they
aren't in their subject matter area. Once in a while I dust them off
and put them on a table, and the kids are delighted!

Any good ideas about how to shelve these unusual items so they are
visible and get more use?

I will post a hit.

Thanks, Susan Scott
