We used to allow 5 prints/day if it was for school work, i.e., not cheat codes and the like. Now we charge 5 cents for every page printed from the computers or photocopier. However, we do not chg. for photos, illus., graphs, charts or maps. We are in a low income area, but find that it is not a problem. A handful of teachers say that they will pay. I tease the class and exhort them to not use their teacher's money and some then pay. (However, I tell the teacher that I won't accept their money.) We charge 25 cents for color copies.

Here’s one of those topics that pops up every once in awhile. Do any schools out there allot a certain quota of print jobs and then begin charging students after they’ve fulfilled their quotas? If so, how large of a quota does a student receive? On a related note, does anyone use Go Print to control printing and/or assign quotas? How has it worked for you? We use a piece of software called Print Censor that works well but one of us or a student assistant has to sit at the terminal and release print jobs, which is very time consuming. We’re looking at alternatives. Thank you. Doug DiltsLibrary Media TeacherSouth Tahoe High School530-541-4111 x240http://www.ltusd.org/sths/library
