[CALIBK12] CALIBK12 Digest, Vol 9, Issue 22, Message 6 on Plagiarism Checkers

Regarding free plagarism checkers that Ms. Perry was asking about, you might want
to try http://www.articlechecker.com/ In addition, there is a new academic journal
devoted to plagiarism issues called Plagiary to be found at http://www.plagiary.org/
I am new to libary science-I will be starting the program with Dr. Farmer in January.
But I have completed coursework toward a PhD. in English where plagiarism is always
a hot topic for discussion. It is true that most of the plagiarism software is no longer
free and open-source. Perhaps it should be more readily available to teacher-librarians.

> For those looking for a library media teacher program, Fresno Pacific University will soon be offering the School Library Media Teacher credential and the Master of Arts in Education: School Library & Information Technology entirely online. The first cohort will start in May 2008. Students typically take one course at a time.
>
> The credential program requires 32 units of coursework. The master's degree requires a total of 42-44 units (including those from the credential).
>
> I have attached information about the new program to this email. You can get information on the program from the program director, Jo Ellen Misakian (jmisakian at fresno.edu), or from Linda Nero (lnero at fresno.edu).
>
> As a current student in the program, I can tell you that I have been quite pleased with the program thus far and I expect the level of quality to continue. As it happens, I already hold a master's degree in an unrelated field and had thought I was done earning such things. I have been so pleased with the program that I have been pondering that unthinkable (but please don't tell my wife!).
