[CALIBK12] Playaway books

I am curious about any experience anyone has had with Playaway books.
They are recorded books in an mp3 format if I am correct. Have they been
of value to struggling readers? If so, in which way have they been
helpful? Do they attempt to read along while listening? Is there a value
if students choose to listen to a book rather than read it instead? Do
they have a positive or negative effect on proficient readers? New line
of questioning... Have your teachers used them in their lesson planning
either for an individual or a class? Are there any ideas about the best
ways to utilize these resources? If you have or were to have the
Playaway books, how many would you buy? Thanks.
