[CALIBK12] Sacramento State's College of Continuing Education Library Media Teacher Credential Program 2007 - 2008

Developing well-trained and appropriately credentialed library media
teachers has been the objective of Sacramento State's College of
Continuing Education for the past eight years. Our Library Media Teacher
Credential Program is designed to meet the educational needs of
credentialed teachers wanting to teach in a library setting. We invite
you to take this opportunity to explore the program further and
encourage teachers within your district to enroll.  Please review the
attached documents, which include the upcoming academic year course
schedule and program scholarship information.  Thank you and should you

2007 - 2008

 

In California, qualified library media teachers are in high demand. The
California Department of Education reports that seven out of eight
schools do not have professional library staffing for half a day or
more. Recent studies suggest a direct link between a quality library
media services and high student achievement, regardless of a community's
social and economic factors. Our Library Media Credential Program
prepares you to be a library media teacher in any K-12 school in
California and function as a part of the vital library media services. 

Benefits: 

            * receive a Library Media Teacher Services credential in one
year 

            * earn 31 units of graduate level credit from Sacramento
State 

            * advance on the pay scale 

            * share ideas and best practices with other library
professionals 

            * prepare students to be problem solvers, decision makers,
