[CALIBK12] authors in the middle school

Hi to all you "summer faithful"--

For the first time in several years we are planning an Author Day at each of the
two middle schools in our district. We have tried various ways to make this work
within the middle school day/schedule but haven't been particularly happy with
anything we've done before (one of the reasons we haven't done it for awhile!)

I'd love to hear what other middle or high schools do when authors visit the
school. Do you somehow have every student attend a presentation? Do you work
with the language arts teachers to schedule classes? I'm kind of stuck on the
logistics part of this and would really appreciate any input you have to offer.
Knowing what didn't work for you would be useful as well.
