[CALIBK12] Letters to Congress

I agree that it is a good idea to send a "real" letter to members of Congress, in addition to contacting them via e-mail. HOWEVER, snail mail letters should be sent to their local district office -- NOT to Washington, DC.

Letters sent to Capitol Hill are first dispatched to New Jersey, where they are checked for Anthrax, a slow process. It could take as long as six weeks before a member of Congress receives a letter....we don't have that kind of time. Another option is to FAX the letter -- either to the local office or to DC.
