Calibbers might want to go to this website: 

http://www2.firstbook.org/whatbook where you can enter the title of the first book that got you hooked on reading, AND you can vote for California to receive 50,000 new books. 

California is currently 13th on the list, so we really could use many, many more votes.  It's also fun to click on the 'celeb' section, and see which 'first books' got many writers, actors, etc. hooked on reading.
