[CALIBK12] HP Party in MADERA 7/20/07!!!

Dear Friends.....We, too, at Thomas Jefferson  Middle School in Madera USD 
ordered 30 copies directly from Scholastic which we  received at least 10 days 
early, barcoded them and had a Midnight Party on  Friday, July 20, 2007...We 
advertised heavily in Madera Unified for grades four  and up through our 
District E-Mail via our MUSD PR Person.  Our party was  in the Madera Tribune's 
Community Calendar for weeks prior. Our library-loving  local reporter , Tami Jo 
Nix from the Madera Tribune came (as she did when we  did the same thing for HPV 
in 2003)...We had the ONLY HP party in Madera Friday  night, July 20. The 
Tribune printed a great article plus photo (front page above  the fold ) on our 
Thomas Jefferson Party. 
 
We opened the doors at 9:00 P.M. and of  course, did not check out the books 
until one minute past  midnight on Friday...I also did a presentation  at our 
MUSD board meeting the previous Tuesday night re the HPVII Party and gave  
some HP stuff away plus a color flyer to all at the bd meeting...Great  PR.
 
It was Great Fun and the students and parents  had a great time!
