Continuing Education Courses
The SJSU School of Library and Information Science is partnering with
the Neal-Schuman Professional Education Network to offer alumni,
students, and the greater SLIS community access to library-related
audio and web-based seminars and workshops.

Social Discovery Tools enabled by the Web 2.0 environment are being
explored and utilized to catapult the library into the forefront of
social networking. BiblioCommons is an ambitious undertaking that has
been developed with the support of Knowledge Ontario and Provincial
Library Services in British Columbia, following extensive end-user
research through 2006, and technology development through 2007.
BiblioCommons services are now in beta release. These services will,
for the first time, actively integrate the contribution of social
data into the existing usage patterns of library users, and enable
the aggregation and sharing of that data across library systems to
create a highly interactive, discovery environment which exists as a
layer on top of the library's existing Integrated Library System.
