Barbara Jeffus’ article about leadership in the current CSLA Journal is well worth reading (p. 14). Some people bring out the best in others, and Barbara is one of those people who encourages people to be all that they can be. Getting involved in leadership in CSLA is a win-win for you and the organization.
Here’s an opportunity for you to wade into the leadership waters: come to a CSLA State Membership Committee meeting at 2:30 on Saturday at the conference, just before the General Membership Meeting at 3:45. You are welcome to join the Membership Committee at the state or local level—or just come and share your ideas for a membership campaign to encourage the growth of CSLA. Wherever the general membership meeting is held, that’s where we will be; check your program and consider yourself invited.
We will talk about creative ideas and the use of technology to recruit members. Put on your whimsical, self-decorated, floppy hat; your propeller head beanie; or your marching activist hat. Your idea may be just the one we need—or the one that sparks an idea in someone else and so on and so on.
