[CALIBK12] Laptop management

We have / had 30 brand new laptops in our school library.  3 of them
have walked away since the beginning of the school year.  The
principal, techie, and librarian are trying to develop a best practice
approach to student use of laptops in the library.

In the past we have been handing out laptops on the honor system. We
are a small private catholic school, but I guess a "free" laptop is
just too tempting for students.  I am the only librarian in a two room
library spread with 3 exit doors and on average 60+ students working.

I would like to know how other school libraries "check out" laptops.
