Amen to Blanche, Wendy. Librarians are teachers. Same salary-unless you work longer hours. Then you should expect a stipend, preferably at a comparable hourly wage.

Subject: [CALIBK12] starting salaries

Does anyone have information on appropriate starting salaries for school librarians?  My school has had money budgeted to hire a librarian for some time and has not actually hired one but is looking to do so this year.  To start the process, my assistant principal needs an idea of the appropriate salary to offer.
