[CALIBK12] funding high school libraries

I am very fortunate. I work in a high school which has always supported it's library. Of course, in the past ten years I have made sure that the leadership team (dept. chairs & admin) know that everything I do is for them. I have site budgets for both books and AV (we don't purchase much of the old kind of AV but I have moved this to cover electronic subscriptions) and a little money from the school's categorical budget. I don't do any fundraising other than the few times when times we had special needs, like the new security gates, which were beyond our means. In those cases I have always gotten what we needed, even if we had to wait awhile for the funds to become available.

Regards,

Would those of you working in high school libraries please let me know how you are funded? Do you write grants? Do you have parents who support you? How much extra time do you spend fundraising? I am disgusted by our dwindling budget and looking for ways to bring in extra money on a regular basis. Thanks for your help- Cheryl
