Subject: Conference Concurrent Sessions

Hello CAlibbers;
The meat and potatoes of any conference is the selection of
concurrent sessions it offers. This year's CSLA Conference in Ontario
has a spectacular menu of delectable delights. There are a total of
eight concurrent session strands spread over three days, each with 12 to
15 presentations: Strands A, B, and C on Thursday; Strands D, E, and F
on Friday; and Strands G and H on Sunday morning. Within each of these
strands, the conference committee has worked very hard to achieve a
balance of topics and themes. Themes include reading and literature,
technology integration, research and information literacy skills
teaching, library facility and management, advocacy and legislation, and
a few excellent miscellaneous offerings. Not mentioned yet are the two
or three author presentations in each concurrent session strand.
Very important is that there are presentations within each strand
that will appeal to our varied attendees. The school library
certificated professionals and the invaluable teammate paraprofessionals
will all have so many appealing sessions as to make the final selection
extremely difficult. Visiting teachers, administrators, and friends of
school libraries will likewise be richly rewarded in the variety and
depth of the sessions.
Next week our posting will focus on some of the themes and topics
that will whet your appetite. Are you booked yet for the best conference
yet?
