One of the best investments we have ever made was in a subscription to NoodleTools. Our entire high school now supports the English department by using MLA format and NoodleBib. There is a free simplified version appropriate for middle school and below. http://www.noodletools.com/index.php

Melanie,

It is difficult enough to get middle school and high school students to cite works correctly. The chairs of all our academic and elective departments discussed this particular situation at length. We came to the consensus that MLA would be our site standard for all courses and at all grade levels. The feeling is that once a student understands the use and formatting of a citation they can more easily adapt to different styles as they continue their academic education.

Hello Everyone -- I'm wondering what style guide do you use in K-12
classrooms to teach citations? Specifically I am wondering if you use
APA for science classes.

Many thanks, Melanie Sellar
