There are about a jillion, but one of my favorites is Pride and Prejudice.
The Keira Knightly film version coincides beautifully with the book,
particularly when Mr. Darcy declares his love to Elizabeth in the stone
gazebo in the pouring rain. It should be viewed after reading the passages
on pgs 138-141 (Modern library version) - the last few pages of chapter
33.
The following movies follow the "script" of the book fairly closely and
are worth a watch:
A Christmas Carol (Geo. C. Scott)
Jane Eyre (New BBC version)
Bleak House (BBC w/Gillian Anderson)
Frankenstein (Branagh/Pacino)
Gone With the Wind (truncated, but uses lines from the book)
Tuck Everlasting (with the chick from Gilmore Girls)
Charlotte's Web (Dakota Fanning)
Much Ado About Nothing (Branagh)
Hamlet (Branagh - 4 hours and worth every second!)
Good luck.

> My media production teacher (brand new teacher AND course) wants to help
students understand the difference between written communication and
media. So, she wants students to read a few pages from a book and then
show a corresponding part of the movie to her students.

more specifically pages from books that have been translated into
specific scenes . In otherwords, she doesn't have time to read large
portions from books or show whole movies to get her point across, so
even if it is a well done book into movie, if there isn't a specific
scene that corresponds pretty closely to the original text, it won't
help her.
