[CALIBK12] Teacher request for books into movies

Hi folks,

Thanks to all who made suggestions and gave good feedback.  There are a
few ideas still trickling in, but I've attached what I have to date.
Some great ideas that went way beyond helpful!!!

 

I'm going to suggest that the teacher use: 

1.        the opening pages and scene from Holes (an example of a media
that gets the same idea across as a book, but doesn't use even close to
the words written).

2.       The final courtroom scene in To Kill a Mockingbird (an example
of media that parralells pretty closely to the written version)

3.       Various sections of Ken Burns Civil War documentary and the
nonfiction book that goes along with the series (I thought this was a
really good example of nonfiction).
