Jeannette,
Why not ask your Honors or (etc.) English teachers about them - perhaps they
might steer the kids towards them or give extra credit for reading them (if
they think they're still of literary merit), or they may want them for their
classroom shelves. Are any of them on the college prep booklists? That might
make them more attractive, despite the old appearance. Perhaps if you
featured just one at a time with a picture & bio of the author in a special
display they might move.
If this is a no go, why not make them available to staff (through the
library on a "Staff" reading shelf?) in the lounge in a book exchange box?
Just put in one or two at a time and see if they are well-received. We have
a book exchange in our staff room and the books come in and go out all the
time.

Subject: [CALIBK12] Great books and Harvard classics
Does anyone still have in their high school collection the Great Books of
the Western World or the Harvard Classics? We are in a dilemma on whether
we should keep them or weed. It has been many years since anyone has
checked them out or even looked at them.
Thank you for your help,
