[CALIBK12] library computer guidelines

Our school requires that students sign an acceptable use policy before they are given a login. This policy also requires a parent's signature.
Incoming 9th graders are given a Library Orientation, during which we cover many of these topics and teach them how to access the public library databases and our own reference ebooks. The Library Orientation sheet is given to each student. They seem to remember the directions throughout their high school career. I keep extra copies on hand of the orientation and other lessons I give, such as MLA format.
I don't have evidence that our students read the signs I have posted about how to print and put money into their printer account which is computer-managed. This is the most frequent instruction I have to repeat. I just think people prefer to ask a human a question, rather than read instructions.

For high school libraries:

Do you have a sign/poster in the area of your computers detailing the appropriate and inappropriate uses of the computers? I'm trying to create a more positive message while still getting across that certain activities aren't allowed.

I would love to hear what you do in regards to wording, and do you have one big sign or a small sign on each computer, or in each row (if you have rows)?

Also, do you have instructions for database use posted?

(We have remodeled the library and the catch as catch can signs I used to post just aren't good enough anymore!)

Thanks for any hints you might have.
