Hi all! I have appreciated all of the advice I have received in the past. Now to seek more. I am applying for two positions in my district. I have no clue how it will turn out, but I want to be able to respond intelligently and with sound information during the interviews. I need to be prepared with information about some of the following:

1. Does anyone have lists of initial materials purchased for a new high school library? (I will review and update if needed - this is a starting point only.)
2. How much shelf space may be needed for a library in a school that will eventually house about 2,500 students?
3. I am tired and don't want to rummage through old notes, so...How many books per student are expected in a well stocked library?
4. Do any of you have pictures of your facilities and those things that are welcoming or exciting for the students? Will you email some to me? Please?
5. What are the things you do that attract and keep students, faculty, administration, and others coming in to the library repeatedly? ( I would love to make it the favorite place to be on campus.)
6. How do you determine where the greatest need is in collection development when you only have a very limited amount? (Maybe about $150,000)
7. Does anyone have some grant sites that might consider grants written by a new school?

I will greatly appreciate any comments or help. I am planning to visit local business or civic and service groups in the area of the school if I am the successful candidate. I also plan to continue looking for additional funding through grants, sponsors, or angels. Please respond to my email. Thanks in advance.
