So why am I learning this? Helping students internalize
the underlying patterns and concepts of searching
for information...
http://tinyurl.com/26slss

with Mindy Thuna - 1 hour AUDIO CONFERENCE - $85

Information literacy instruction in universities and colleges takes many
different forms -- stand-alone courses, workshops, on-line tutorials, and
embedded or integrated course sessions. While the style, content, and focus
changes with the individual instructor, there is still a tendency towards
taking a tool-based approach to teaching information literacy skills. This
session is geared towards discussing ways in which we as librarians and
educators can move away from this tool-based approach and bring the students
to at least a relational level of understanding by designing our lessons to
help students tackle unfamiliar problems through the creation of a
conceptual framework for finding, locating, and retrieving information when
they need it.

Tuesday, Oct. 30, 1-2pm ET (10-11am, PT)

enhancements with Vista, group policies for limiting the effects of
