Sarah,
I don't have a lesson, but some years ago I did this on paper with an EL class. I used colored sheets of paper with Dewey numbers on them (I drew a 'book' on each one). I passed out the pages and had the kids get in order. Then the class checked whether the student 'books' had put themselves in the right place.
I also made up some lessons for a CLAD course, but they include lots of images and bigger files. If you are working with an EL group, email me off list and I will send them over. If you are working with library aides, the stuff I have is probably too simple.

Sorry everyone, my email got hijacked and it sent out an invite to some site that I have since excommunicated myself from. Eek! How embarassing!
I am looking for activites that help high school students practice shelf reading on paper before moving to real book practice. Instead of reinventing the wheel I'm hoping that someone mihgt have a worksheet or something online.
Thanks!
