A recent discovery that credentialed LMTs in my district (Roseville Joint
Union HSD) are held to different contract standards than classroom teachers
has our union reps curious as to how other districts (especially in the
Central Valley area: Elk Grove, Nevada Union, Davis, Sacramento, Placer,
San Juan, etc) handle the LMT contract.
The reps have asked me to seek out the following information regarding
contract hours and prep periods. If you are a credentialed LMTs and don't
mind taking the time, please respond OFF LIST to the questions below. Feel
free to be as detailed as you like - the more comparisons I can draw, the
better. Many thanks in advance.
- Are your contract hours the same as classroom teachers or extended
(mandatory hours, not the hours we volunteer beyond the work day)
- Do you have a paid prep like a classroom teacher? If so, is it "fixed" (a
certain period of the day) or "floating" (taken when it fits the schedule).
- If you do not have a paid prep, are you compensated in any way for working
a full schedule without preparation?
