[CALIBK12] Fw: Letters About Literature, 2008!

Sandy,

Thanks for the reminder about this neat program. In my district we encourage
students to participate each year. However, for me one of the best parts of
the program is reading the letters, learning what young people have to say
about the literature that touched them personally. Some books that I really
didn't care for were meaningful for youthful writers, and their letters
provided insights and reasons to include those titles in the library
collection.

Calibbers (and your students) may be interested in the message forwarded
below from the California Center for the Book. Letters About Literature is a

wonderful program, and it might be a great idea to get your students
involved.
