Dear CSLA members:

By now, we are all back at school and, no doubt, busier than ever. Please,
though, don't forget to make your plans to attend the CSLA Conference in
November, AND consider sharing your successful programs, practices, and
ideas with the rest of us there. It's not too late to apply as a poster
exhibit participant. Poster sessions offer you a forum in which to share
ideas that call for more than a handout but less than a concurrent session
oral presentation. Conference attendees will appreciate the opportunity to
visit poster sessions on topics such as collaborative lessons, college
programs for library staff, advocacy and legislation, library events,
services to school libraries, and more. Once you set up your display, you
don't even need to stay by it; we will take care of replenishing your
handouts.

Poster sessions will be displayed on either a whole or a half of a 4' x 8'
mobile bulletin board in the Exhibit Hall of the Convention Center
throughout the Exhibit Hours of the conference. The surface of the mobile
bulletin boards will be tacky and display items can be affixed to the board
using Velcro, pushpins or T-pins. You can include handouts in a hanging file
or folder affixed to the board.

If selected, you will set-up between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Thursday,
November 15th for the Grand Opening of the Exhibit Hall. Your poster
exhibit must be taken down by 3:30 PM on Saturday, November 17.

Please visit <http://schoolibrary.org/con/poster_session.htm>
http://schoolibrary.org/con/poster_session.htm for more information, photos
of last years' sessions, and a copy of the proposal form. Poster session
applications are due by October 1, and you will be informed if you are
selected by October 17.

Please contact Jane Lofton at <mailto:jane at lofton.com> jane at lofton.com or
(818)865-8010 (home) or (818)889-2134 x230 (work) for more information. You
must register for the conference to participate in the poster sessions and
we will be unable to accept commercial vendor applicants.

Thanks, and please enjoy a great fall season at your library!
