School Librarians,

FYI:
While we were on summer vacation or busy re-tooling with web 2.0, a web
safety bill was introduced to the US Congress.
ISTE CEO Don Knezek lauded a new internet safety
bill introduced in the U.S. Senate on August 2, calling it a reasoned
approach that "asks schools to take their proper role." Under the bill,
schools receiving e-rate funds would have to educate students about safe
and responsible behavior online.

This is a bill to watch. It would provide an additional justification
for school library information literacy programs.

Best wishes.
