[CALIBK12] California Educator issue on "The Information Age"

I agree. Teachers and administrators can't be expected to support that
which they don't know about. I, as a Library Media Teacher, don't pay
for other professional educators standards so why would they pay for
ours?

Actually, this is my first post to CALIB and I'm sure that there will
be
a lot of CSLA members that will disagree with my point of view.

CSLA has made a disastrous decision to keep their standards a secret!
You have to pay to view them. What possible need to do this is still
unknown, it seems like such an obvious and advantageous move to place
the standards as a free download from their website.

We cannot expect any other organization to accept and promote our
standards if we insist on keeping them hostage.

Just my opinion,

Acting District Librarian
La Mesa-Spring Valley School District

Before I write my letter...does anyone know if CTA had anything to
say about our CSLA Standards and Guidelines? Did they endorse it?

Thanks,
Katie
