I don't think (and I hope) that no one is advocating more of the same.
Quite the opposite. The difference is in the approach. 

Would I like NCLB to go away? Yes, and I have been a strong advocate
for that. Do I think it will? No.

What high stakes testing has done for public education is truly
horrendous. However, what often happens is that we can't get rid of laws
once they are on the books. I think then CTA's time would be better
spent on seeing what parts can be modified. Would it be possible to
include a portfolio option for schools to prove learning? How about
multiple measures? Think of some other possibilities.

 I think adding additional ways to make AYP is more likely and
achievable than NCLB just going away.
