I concur; this presents a valuable opportunity for advocacy and building
support. I extend borrowing privileges to my library volunteers also, many
of whom are community members who have no first hand connection to the
school.
Last spring I also conducted evening workshops for parents in the use of
our on line subscription databases. I plan to continue this year. Since
our remote access continues through the summer when the library is closed,
the only way to use them is remotely. The more we advertise and make our
services available, the more visibility we have. Gary Hartzell explains
this quite graphically when he talks about how to build influence.
