Although I can't find Yvette Cabrera's column on the Register online, y'all should know that Richard Moore was featured in her column today, April 1, 2008. It begins, "It can be depressing hearing Richard K. Moore talk." Then she goes on to say, "Don't get me wrong. Moore himself is a fascinating, walking Wikipedia of sorts who fires off literacy statistics, state reading rankings and historical dates so fast my pen can barely keep up. The depressing part is hearing Moore describe the state of California's school library system." Yep, she was obviously talking to our Richard and he didn't mince any words. The column is entitled "Make School Libraries a Priority," and where it is continued, it reads "Shortchanged Schools."
If you live in Orange County, look for the article. I cut it out but now I'm not sure which section it was in--Local maybe? My husband spotted this morning and pointed it out to me.
