The State Board of Education recently approved the timeline for the update of the History-Social Science and Science Frameworks. Please share the following information with individuals who might be interested in participating in this process. It would be wonderful to have a few applications from the school library world. Might you be interested?!

Focus Group Member - Science
The update of the Science Framework will include Focus Group meetings in October throughout the state to gather public input on the update of the Framework. Additional information is available at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/sc/cf/index.asp (go to "2010 Science Framework Update").

Curriculum Framework and Evaluation Criteria Committee (CFCC) Member - Science
CFCC members are appointed by the State Board of Education and will attend approximately five meetings in 2009 to conduct the work of updating the Science Framework. Additional information and an application form are available at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/sc/cf/index.asp (go to "2010 Science Framework Update").

CFCC Member - History-Social Science
CFCC members are appointed by the State Board of Education and will attend approximately five meetings in 2009 to conduct the work of updating the History-Social Science Framework. Additional information and a CFCC application form are available at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/hs/cf/. The deadline for applications is September 3, 2008.
