Cool Tools for Library Webmasters
http://tinyurl.com/65pvjx

1-hour Web Conference with Darlene Fichter and Frank Cervone - $109.95

Hop on board and look at some great tools that can help make your life
easier and delight or even wow your visitors. Our experts and popular
speakers at Computers in Libraries and Internet Librarian conferences
are sharing a whole roster of free or inexpensive tools covering the
gamut of Web 2.0 gadgets and widgets, hosted applications, server side
scripts, and desktop tools for Professional Education Network
attendees. They highlight tools for people who are just starting out
as well as some advanced applications for Webmasters who like to dig
their teeth into a bit of code. Pick up some new tool ideas that can
take your site to the next level.

Thursday, September 11, 2:00 pm ET, 11:00 am PT
Library Website Usability Tools & Techniques: The Essentials
http://tinyurl.com/5j6jbg

1-hour Web Conference with Terry Nikkel - $109.95

Ask typical users where they begin their research, and nine out of 10
will tell you they use the Internet, for example Google, Yahoo!, or
Wikipedia. Maybe two out of 100 will say they use the library. Despite
the abundance—and accuracy—of information available on library Web
sites, users often discover quickly that they involve confusing terms
and syntax, or convoluted navigation and search procedures. This
course will show how to turn confusing, unappealing Web sites into the
kind of friendly, efficient information gateways that users will choose.

Friday, September 12, 1:00 pm ET, 10:00 am PT
Copyright Issues in Distance Education
http://tinyurl.com/6g2bdx

1-hour Audio Conference with Arlene Bielefield - $85.00

Copyright is an issue that has remained on the leading edge of
information because of the amount currently available. The Internet,
distance education, and continuing emergence of new technologies are
only a few examples of influences causing librarians and educators to
be wary about copyright matters. Copyright is further complicated by
legal verbiage that perplexes many. The complexity of copyright law
as it applies to distance education is discussed in this session.

Monday, September 15, 3:00 pm ET, 12:00 pm, PT
5 Easy YA Programs You Can Use Now
http://tinyurl.com/5lcvuj

1-hour Audio Conference with RoseMary Honnold - $85.00

No matter what your budget, space, or staff limitations are, you can
create programs for teens that will help you provide opportunities for
teens to build assets at your library, help build better relationships
between staff and teens, and connect teens with the library
collection. This session will give you five programming ideas with
many variations to get you started.

Wednesday, September 17, 2:00 pm ET, 11:00 am PT
Using Evaluation Results to Communicate Your Value
Part 3: Outcomes Measurement
http://tinyurl.com/5kk2uv

1-hour Web Conference with Rosalind F. Dudden - $109.95

Part three in a four-part program. This session will discuss the
present work with outcomes measures, using the Logic Model to decide
what your outcomes will be for a specific project or program. Using
outcomes studies from the literature will also be discussed.

Thursday, September 18, 3:00 pm ET, 12:00 pm PT
Knowledge Sharing in the Era of the Socially Networked Organization
http://tinyurl.com/5s7rhs

1-hour Audio Conference with Mary Cavanagh - $85.00

The networked organization of the 1990s was created by internet
technologies; the socially networked organization of 2008 works
through people to people knowledge and information relationships and
Web 2.0 technologies. What strategies do you as information managers
and information specialists need to know to build and leverage your
own knowledge networks? What’s the most effective way to structure
your ‘knowledge work’ in the socially networked information
organization? How do our clients and customers participate in our
information practices and networks? Join our public library
practitioner and researcher as she addresses these interesting issues
and challenges.
