Calibers,
I just left the second best LMT position in the Fairfield-Suisun
Unified School District to take the best one. My former position was
the LMT for three schools; Cordelia Hills (one day a week), Suisun
Elementary (two days a week) and Grange Middle School (two days a week).
While traveling from school to school may seem like a hassle, the
schools I was at made it a pleasure.
Cordelia Hills is a new school with a beautiful library and great
collection (I selected it!). The teachers were chosen from all over the
district and are all library friendly. The office staff is friendly and
responsive, and the principal is great!
Suisun Elementary is part of a grand experiment for the district
and Solano County Public Library. We have combined the Suisun Public
Library and Suisun Elementary Library. The most excellent tech and I
share a cubicle at the public library next door to the elementary school
and have all of our checkouts and lessons there. The public library
staff and school staff are both easy to get along with and supportive.

Finally is Grange Middle School. This is an up and coming middle
school in a transitional neighborhood with a young, engertic staff, an
experienced administration, and yet another great library tech. The
facility is large with a vaulted ceiling, three separate sitting areas,
large teaching area with a multitude of tables, and a good collection.

All three schools have SmartBoards, good collections of fiction,
non-fiction, and reference, and a wonderful population of library users.
If you are interested, this position is (or soon will be) posted on
Ed-Join.
