Hello Everyone,

It is with mixed emotions that I am posting an LMT position for Paradise Unified School District. You see, I have been an Elem. Lib. Tech. Coordinator for six years and worked with a high school LMT Coordinator as well. My comrade has retired and the technology piece of our positions has grown. So, I am now the director of technology and we are in need of an LMT who will be a high school librarian with district library coordinator responsibility for the 5 other libraries. The five libraries are three K-5 schools, one K-8 and one 6-8. Without the technology piece this will be a nice position. Each library is well managed and run by a 6 hour per day Library Specialist. The "Library Ladies" are very capable and we have taken good care of the libraries.

About Our District from our website: http://district.pusdk12.org/

We have approximately 5,400 students attending Paradise Unified School District's various schools for students in grades K-12. The district includes four elementary schools, four charter schools, two intermediate schools, one high school and one continuation high school. The five-member board of trustees annually adopts a budget of about $21 million. The school district is one of the largest employers in the community, with 282 certificated and 198 classified employees. The district's superintendent is Roger Bylund.

Paradise nestles among the towering pines of the Sierra Nevada foothills about 3-1/2 hours from San Francisco and 90 miles north of Sacramento. Often described as "above the valley fog yet below the snow," the area is blessed with four distinct-yet pleasantly agreeable-seasons. Recreation at your back door includes fishing, hiking, golfing, waterskiing, hunting and even gold panning! Chico, with its many university activities, is only minutes away. This friendly community of 32,000 attracts folks who are weary of freeways and big-city hassles. With its clean air, low crime and old-fashioned neighborliness, Paradise is a great place to raise a family.

I have lived in Paradise for many years and it is a great town. With CSU Chico just down the road there are plenty of activities. My girls attended school in this district and CSU Chico and had great experiences.

If you are interested in moving to the foot hills, to a smaller town, Paradise deservers your consideration!

Thank you for reading this and please forward to interested individuals . Feel free to email me if you have any questions. I would be glad to talk about the position.

Thanks,

Mary Rose
