[CALIBK12] Stephenie Meyer's "Midnight Sun" Violated Online

It is a sad day when you read that a beloved teen author had her work summarily violated and posted on the Internet for the world to see, without her consent. Most of you "Twilight" lovers know that Stephenie Meyer has been working on "Midnight Sun", a parallel story to "Twilight" told from Edward's point of view. She was 2/3's of the way done with the book when someone took her manuscript and posted it on the Web. She has announced on her web site that due to this unfortunate incident, the book is shelved indefinitely:

I will be using this terrible incident as lesson for my students once school starts, and reinforce that there are consequences when you take someone's work and manipulate or use it without permission. In this case, young people all over the world will be deprived of what had promised to be a fantastic companion to "Twilight" with Edward's bleak, black humor peppering the pages. What a sad day for vampire fans...
