Peter's wife Marian has asked that I help update his library friends and colleagues with the latest on his condition.
As many of you know, Peter Milbury's presentation at the CSLA conference last month was cut short by extreme back pain. He was treated at a Sacramento hospital and released, but he returned to his local hospital a week ago. His illness was at last identified as an infection in his blood which was causing problems with his spine and excruciating pain. They are now treating him with penicillin, and while his temperature has returned to normal, his condition is still serious, and they expect a long road before he is recuperated.
Close friends and family of the Milburys are organizing a CarePage online which will allow Marian to quickly post updates on Peter's situation, and it will also allow friends and family to post messages and words of encouragement to them.
At present, they are discouraging visitors to the hospital, and I would also discourage phone calls to their residence, as Peter's wife is already overwhelmed with responding to the number of calls she has received.
I'll provide an update with information on the CarePage as soon as it is up and running, as I'm sure many of us will wish to follow his progress and send our best wishes to Peter and his family.
