I agree. We used it at Golden Valley HS and when I gave instruction on
its use, one of my 'submitted' papers always had an originality report
showing that part of it came from someone else's paper. And it would not
show the paper but tell you to contact that person directly. It showed
websites and paper mill papers and other such things.

What is his intellectual property? Turnitin doesn't take his/her words
and
share them with someone else. It only makes sures his/her words don't
belong to someone else and indeed is his/her intellectual property.
