[CALIBK12] BOOK: Raven's Gate by Horowitz

Hard to put down, and you might have to sleep with the lights on. Danger after danger for the kids in this series. Evil Star is the second book in Horowitz's series The Gatekeepers. The third book is out now, Night Rise. Check out the Scholastic book trailer @ http://www.scholastic.com/gatekeepers/. It's a great "boy book," or for middle grade kids who like adventure. The third book adds a little more fantasy. 
 
This series is however, much darker than the Alex Rider series. We don't use this series in our elementary schools.

This book has been sitting on my shelf at home for a long time.  Many of my students have already discovered this series so I am (as usual) trying to catch up to the kids.  In Raven's Gate Horowitz has another book that will appeal to reluctant readers, especially those of the male persuasion.  Read the review on Shelf Life: The LHS Reading Blog:
