Without a doubt, the most popular book for the 9th graders at my school is Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen. It is easy to read, has 212 pages, has both a boy's and a girl's point of view, and both boys and girls recommend it to their friends. And if it matters, 70% of the students at my school are Latino.

Subject: [CALIBK12] Title suggestions for One Book activity
My middle school is searching for a good title for a one book, one community activity. This title would have to appeal to both boys and girls, have about 250 pages, 7/8 grade reading level and have a recent copyright. I know that is a lot to ask, but maybe you have some good suggestions. Please let me know - thank you - Barbara
