[CALIBK12] Aeries software for the textbooks

Has anyone mastered the use of remote scanning and uploading of textbook checkout info?  In case textbooks fall into the libraries' lap in our district, I was wondering if the books could be scanned in the classrooms and then the info uploaded.  We have no place for centralized textbook distribution.

We use Aeries for textbook
distribution.  It has a few areas that we’d like to see improved,
such as a way to track a book back to past users, but mostly it works
fine.  Our finance clerk really likes that everything is linked in one
database.

We have Aeries, and regular bar
code scanners work with it just fine.  However, I was not aware that
Aeries could be used for textbook inventory and checkout; there is no such
option in the way that our Aeries is configured.  We use it in combination
with Textbook Tracker and Alexandria.

Does anybody know which Scanner will work with
Aeries? Aeries itself

does not sell scanners. And also is it possible to
convert textbook

database from Spectrum to Aeries. My school really
wants to switch to

Aeries for the textbooks checkout. I can't even
imagine to rebarcode

25000 textbooks.
