[CALIBK12] For library staff and history teachers in Fresno, Merced, Mariposa, Madera, Tulare and Kings Counties

For those outside these counties, I apologize, but I know the library staff
are always the ones to send on good information to others...

In March, 2008, Christopher Paul Curtis  will be coming to Fresno as part of
the Clovis Unified / Region VII Teaching American History grant.  More
details closer to the event for those who would like to join us in person or
from a distance.

*NEW GRANT FOR HISTORY TEACHERS AND LIBRARY STAFF*
In addition, the district just received another Teaching American History
grant that will be for history teachers who may want to participate in any
of the following ways:  MA in history, Certificate in History, Quarterly
two-day colloquia, monthly seminars or summer study trips.  The degree is
through CSUFresno and the other events are based on the yearly theme.

If you or someone in your school district would like to participate
beginning in August, 2009, we need to receive an application by *December 18
*.  There is money in the grant to pay participants to earn their degree or
to attend the various grant events.  More details and application

As an aside, this new grant which begins in August 2009, all presentations
will be available via Elluminate, so participants can participate from a
distance.

Contest for Liberty (1754-1787)*
