[CALIBK12] bibliography lesson

I agree with Janie and with Deborah and the others who use her resources. This method will help prepare students for the 9th grade STAR test where they might still ask the students about the particular parts of a bibliographic citation.

I felt that it was easier to begin teaching them the good old fashioned way of just citing print sources first (around second and third grade I do this) and then gradually teaching a simple cut and paste source list. I start the services like easy bib when they get older, and I emphasize that there are many ways to do a bibliography and they should know a variety of ways to do it themselves first.  I liken it to doing math functions yourself before using a calculator.

 I am showing fourth graders how to create a bibliography using easybib. Since they don't have email accounts I simply had the first group copy and paste from easybib into a Word document and print. Even though I wrote out a step by step tutorial it was a lot of "steps" for them to follow.
